Virtual Thriver: Pantry Staples for Easy Food Prep

Join Thrive as we discuss what you should absolutely have in your pantry at all times to make a quick and healthy snack or meal that any member of your family will love!

At Thrive we recommend Whole Foods, Plant-Based diet for optimal health and disease prevention and reversal but many individuals are still not clear how to implement it. The term “whole foods” is defined as foods in their most natural state. Abundant fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes and nuts, and reduced amounts of meats, poultry, seafood, and minimally processed dairy products.

Unfortunately, given our busy lives, many of us feel we do not have time to adopt the prepping and cooking that this diet requires. By default, we instead rely on processed and convenience foods dominating our grocery stores and restaurants. In return, we pay with our health and our waistlines. In fact, a 2019 report in Cell Metabolism found that people who switch to “real foods” lost 2 lbs in the first week while those who ate processed foods tended to consume 500 more calories and gained 2 lbs over the same time span. A whole foods diet can also aid in digestion and prevent diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and Altzheimers disease. All sounds great but where do you start?
