Dr. Scott Greenapple

Dr. Scott D. Greenapple DC, CCSP, C.Ac., FIAMA

Dr. Greenapple has been practicing in Charlotte N.C. the past 24 years and practiced in California for 10 years previously. He earned his bachelor’s degree in healthcare Management and Hospital Administration from the California State University Systems and his Doctorate from Cleveland Chiropractic College, Los Angeles. He completed his post-doctoral education and earned his Certified Sports Physician degree in 1989. He is the former owner and founder of Greenapple Sports and Wellness Center in Charlotte. With extensive sports medicine experience, he was chosen six times to be part of the USA medical staff for the World Triathlon and Duathlon teams, traveling to Europe and Mexico. Dr. Greenapple was also part of the original “Irondocs” working on athletes at Ironman races. He worked with the medical staff for eight years at the world championships in Hawaii and numerous other Ironman events throughout the USA. He has worked and traveled with the PGA, pro golf circuit. He has worked with numerous athletes from multiple teams with the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, WNBA, ECHL, gold medal Olympians, collegiate as well as high school athletes in all aspects of sporting events. He holds specific certifications in biomechanical evaluations with an emphasis on running, triathlons, and TPI certification for golf. As a way of giving back to the community, Dr. G has been volunteering and running clinics for Leukemia Team In Training, many local youth organizations, and local colleges for years. Dr. G was also an instructor, starting in 1993 for Active Release Technique (ART) a specialized myofascial and nerve entrapment treatment system. In 2005, he was awarded the Brown Cup Award for an athlete who came back to overcome an injury or illness after being diagnosed with cancer and competing in triathlons after surgeries in 2002.

 

Since 2005, Dr. G has been focusing his career on Eastern Medicine philosophies incorporating acupuncture and mind/body practices for illness, injury prevention, performance enhancement, stress reduction, anxiety, depression, and overall health and wellness. In 2005, he became a fellow of the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture. He has studied and completed over 1000 hours of acupuncture training and seminars/symposiums. Dr. G is one of a handful of doctors to be chosen to attend and finished a 6-month intensive apprenticeship sports acupuncture program in Boulder Colorado, led by one of the top sports acupuncturists in the country. He is certified in Dry Needling and obtained his status through the Dry Needling Institute in Boulder Colorado. He has also studied and used the NeuroPuncture technique which uses specific frequencies of electricity combined with acupuncture. He is also certified in Electro-Acupuncture Medicine. He continues to study advanced Eastern medicine and biomedicine. He uses traditional acupuncture and cutting-edge technologies for both treatment and diagnosis using a Computerized Digital AcuGraph Meridian imaging system and utilizes a neuroscience acupuncture system. Dr. G has certifications and teaches a variety of Mindfulness Meditation techniques to his patients, groups, and organizations. He has studied in-depth and is certified to teach Qi Gong with the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi. He travels to advanced workshops and retreats to further his studies in eastern medicine incorporating Qi Gong and mindfulness meditation for wellness, balance, and rehabilitative medicine with some of the top Qi Gong masters worldwide. In 2018, he spent between 3-4 weeks in China studying QI Gong and meditations in Heavenly Hangzhou, Wu Dang, and Hua Sha mountains with Buddhist and Daoist masters.

 

In 2018, Dr. Greenapple was honored to join Thrive Center for Healthcare and Wellness, a functional and Integrative medical practice where, with three medical physicians he practices acupuncture, Qi Gong/tai chi, Mindfulness Meditation, Heart Math (biofeedback computerized system for anxiety, depression, ADHD and performance), and uses Cranial Electro Stimulation (CES) for anxiety, depression, and insomnia using the Alpha-Stim technology.
