“A Health Coach is a supportive mentor and wellness authority helping clients feel their best through food & lifestyle changes by tailoring individualized wellness programs to meet their clients’ needs”.  At Thrive, we are pleased to have 3 health coaches here that work with clients individually and in group settings to achieve goals.

What is a Health Coach?

 

The Thrive Health Coaching program has been great for me! There’s a big difference between “knowledge” and “action”.  Learning to be mindful about nutrition choices and setting very specific goals have been helpful exercises for me. Also, having the support and accountability of a Health Coach kept me on track!”

Thriver Spotlight: Dawn Hinshaw

Dawn has been in the Charlotte fitness community since 1990.

After receiving her BS in Exercise Science from Appalachian State University, she worked with the Charlotte Metro YMCAs as a Fitness Director, then opened her own Yoga Studio, Laughing Buddha Yoga. Her love for Personal training and client evaluation has led her to Thrive where she will be Personal training, teaching yoga, yoga therapy, and meditation and working with clients to establish fitness goals and lifestyle changes.

It’s “one stop” that has it all. Wellness, Functional medicine, classes for every “body” and educational classes and workshops to help you live and love longer.

Run, bike, and just about anything else outdoors

If you could recommend one thing to someone new coming to thrive it would be?

I have (5) things: relaxed vibe, clients of all ages and levels, plus Drs. Palermo, Fletcher, and Larson are amazing!

What is your definition of Functional Medicine?

My defenition of Functional Medicine is getting to the root of the illness, treating the body and mind, health and wellness from the inside – out

What is the best piece of information you could give to a new patient?

If there’s one thing that I want a new patient to understand is that at Thrive you get the opportunity to spend more time with the physicians other than at your traditional providers’ office.

What’s your favorite class at Thrive? Why?

I love teaching Monday & Wednesday Slow Flow class, it’s a chance to slow things down like a meditation in motion.

If you could have one Super Power, what would it be?

Ohh, I would want to grant wishes to people

Do you believe pineapple should be on pizza? (Gluten-Free, of course)
