Thrive Carolinas / Current Patients

Lab Results

You will be contacted via the Athena portal when your provider has reviewed your lab results. At that time, they may message you with comments, or advise that you schedule a phone or in-person visit depending on the complexity of the results. The results will also be uploaded to your Athena portal for your records.

Medical Records

To request a copy of your records or to request that Thrive retrieve records from another provider on your behalf, please message through the Athena portal or email records@thrivecarolinas.com.

Billing Questions – Office Visits

Thrive is an out-of-network provider, but we are happy to provide you with a copy of your superbill upon request. If you would like a copy of the superbill from your visit, please please message through the Athena portal or email info@thrivecarolinas.com, subject: superbill request. If you need receipts for more than one visit, please provide the date of service for each visit.

Billing Questions – Labcorp

Labcorp is a separate entity located within Thrive. We are not affiliated with their processing or billing. If you believe there is an error on your Labcorp bill, please contact their billing department with any questions. If you are self-pay, you will be asked to pay Labcorp directly at the register with the phlebotomist.

The following factors may influence coverage of lab tests:

  1. Preventative Testing: Check if your insurance policy covers testing to detect potential health issues early.
  2. Diagnostic Testing: Check if your insurance policy covers testing when it is necessary to confirm or rule out a specific condition.
  3. Policy Variations: Coverage can vary significantly between insurance plans; always check your specific policy.
  4. Medical Necessity: Insurers may require a doctor’s recommendation for diagnostic tests to be covered.
  5. Cost Sharing: Preventative tests may have different out-of-pocket costs compared to diagnostic tests.
  6. Frequency Limits: Preventative tests may have guidelines on how often they can be performed for coverage.

Clinical Questions – Messaging Policy

At Thrive Personalized Healthcare, our secure patient portal allows convenient communication with your care team. Many messages can be handled quickly by our staff and do not require physician review. However, some portal messages require medical evaluation, chart review, or clinical decision-making by your provider. Beginning April 1, 2026 portal messages that require medical advice from a provider may incur a $25 fee. This policy does not apply to Thriver membership patients as all messaging is included regardless of concern. For details, click here.

Supplements

Thrive carries a variety of supplements in office. Please call us to see if the item you need is available. You can also purchase supplements via Fullscript.

Our Insurance Policy

Thrive is an out-of-network provider, which means we do not accept insurance. You can expect to pay a fee for service. As a courtesy, we will provide you with an itemized receipt with diagnosis codes if you would like to submit to your insurance company. We cannot guarantee reimbursement.

When scheduling your appointment, we will be happy to provide you with expected costs as well as procedures for lab work.

Thrive offers both membership and à la carte pricing for appointments.

Costs:

  • Option 1: Thriver membership is $300/month (12 month commitment)
  • Option 2: Initial visit (90 min) + one follow up (45 min) is $1,000.00

Membership is not required to be a patient at Thrive, or participate in classes and events. Please call our office for details.
