Sweet and Spicy Holiday Mixed Nuts

Sweet and Spicy Holiday Mixed Nuts

This festive take on mixed nuts brings together warm holiday spices, a touch of sweetness, and just the right amount of heat. They make an easy, crowd-pleasing snack for gatherings, gift jars, charcuterie boards, or cozy nights by the tree.

Simple to make and naturally sweetened, these nuts toast beautifully in the oven and fill your kitchen with the comforting scent of the season.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups mixed nuts
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried crushed chili peppers
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine mixed nuts and coconut oil, stirring until evenly coated.
  3. Sprinkle coconut sugar, crushed chili peppers, cayenne, and salt over the nuts. Mix well to ensure every piece is coated.
  4. Spread nuts evenly on the baking sheet and roast for 15 minutes, tossing every 5 minutes to prevent burning.
  5. Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container for up to 7 days.

Holiday Tips

  • Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for a warm, seasonal aroma.
  • Mix in dried cranberries after baking for extra color and a sweet holiday contrast.
  • Package in small jars with ribbon for a simple, homemade holiday gift.
