Thriver Spotlight: Stephen Fogg
Hi, I’m Stephen Fogg. I am responsible for all the typos and grammatical errors you might see on the Thrive website, as well as most of its content (including these spotlights).
I love to cook, exercise and simply be with my family when I’m not helping my healthcare clients. Get to know a little about me in this Thriver Spotlight.

What’s so special about Thrive?
The commitment to caring at Thrive is phenomenal, but their ability to customize a health plan that is suitable for an individual is what makes Thrive exceptional.
Where did you grow up?
Cleveland, Ohio
Any Activities/Hobbies outside of Thrive?
Family man, first. I’m active in F3 and St. Gabriel Men’s Club and I love sharing my story as a cancer survivor.
If you could recommend one thing to someone new coming to thrive it would be?
Come with an open mind. Like many men who stepped foot in Thrive, I didn’t think it would be a fit for me. I quickly learned that was wrong, Thrive was the personalized approach I needed for a fuller life.
What is your definition of Functional Medicine?
Functional Medicine is finding a problem at the root cause. As a cancer survivor with chronic conditions that stemmed from my battle, I was conditioned to believe I needed a pill to solve a problem. After speaking with the providers, I understood that with a few dietary revisions and a dedicated workout schedule that many (if not all) of my chronic conditions could be prevented with a healthier lifestyle. If I didn’t have Thrive and Functional Medicine in my life, then I would continue to feed the system with a lifetime of prescriptions that I believed are needed.
What is the best piece of information you could give to a new patient?
Be open and honest with your provider and what you need help with. The best thing I did was admit that I needed a lifestyle change. The providers guided me towards recipes, workouts and eating habits that helped me reach my goals
What’s on your Netflix Que?
Ok, it’s Prime, but I’m a Marvelous Mrs. Maisel fan, also a big fan of Bill Burr & Succession
Dog Kisses on the mouth

What does Jordan do that annoys you?
His handwriting is on par with that of a Provider, other than that it’s a pleasure to work alongside him.

Jaimi’s Thursday 12n Vinyasa Yoga – It is the sweatiest workout of my week

This is tougher than I thought, let’s go with Flying
Do you believe pineapple should be on pizza? (Gluten-Free, of course)
Absolutely not
