Marinating with antioxidant-rich herbs like rosemary, oregano, and basil can help reduce harmful free radicals produced during high-heat cooking.
For the healthiest results, choose grass-fed, organic beef when possible, and pair your steak with plenty of vegetables. Keep condiments to a small portion; your plate should be mostly plants.
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 cup avocado oil
- 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons each of chopped fresh basil, oregano, and rosemary (6 tablespoons total)
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Dash of cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Place steak in a shallow dish or zip-top bag and pour marinade over it.
- Refrigerate for at least 8 hours (or overnight for deeper flavor).
- Grill or pan-sear steak to your preferred doneness, avoiding charring for optimal health benefits.
- Serve sliced over a bed of arugula or mixed greens for a nutrient-packed meal.
