The Breath and Self Care: How to increase your immune system and decrease your stress with three breath practices. Some of the easiest and most profound healing practices both physically and emotionally can be obtained with the use of the breath. Breath practices have been used for millennium with things like Mindfulness Meditation, Qi Gong, Tai Chi and Yoga, all for good reason. They are easy to do, easily accessible and can have profound effects on your overall well being and immune enhancement. Follow Dr. Scott Greenapple as he shows you three different breath practices.
1. 4-7-8 Breathing (Relaxing breath). Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds and exhale for 8 seconds.
2. Box Breathing. Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds.
3. Xi-Xi Hu (Qi Gong breathing) Xi- Chinese for inhale, Hu- Chinese for exhale. Breathe in 2xs, (first breath in the belly, second breath in the chest) hold, breathe out slowly.
