Plantains Prepared Two Ways

Are you signed up for our upcoming Global Table class featuring the tastes and smells of Costa Rica and Central America? Either way, Plantains are a favorite fruit of the people, and we want to share with you two of the more popular ways they are served. Enjoy!

  • Coconut sugar; Cinnamon (optional)

Directions:

  1. Peel plantains and slice into ½ inch rounds.
  2. Fry in half oil and half butter over medium heat until golden. Serve warm.
  3. To keep warm, sprinkle with coconut sugar and or cinnamon and place in a warm oven.
